Coconut Macaroons
COCONUT MACAROONS:
Ingredients:
- 5x egg whites
- 250 gr. Sugar (powder or the finest)
- 350 gr. Shredded coconut
- ½ teaspoon vanilla sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 170°C /338°F
- Prepare a baking sheet
- Mix the egg whites till foamy
- Add sugar, vanilla sugar and shredded coconut till sticky creamy substance
- Make an “egg” with two teaspoons and put the “egg” on the baking sheet
- Continue till dough is gone
- Put all in the oven for about 20 -25 minutes till tops are golden brown
- Cool them down and put them in an airtight box
For the more hot and spicy types, you can use a bit of chillies and for the more spirit(ual) types, add a bit of rum or Malibu..
